Beautiful Blues

Why wear blue? Blue is a universal, it is the color of our ocean and our sky, it looks great next to every color, and it can be very flattering if you wear the correct shade of blue for your skin tone.

Blue is referred to as a “fool proof fashion staple” meaning it can look good with any hue. And don’t limit yourself to just a primary blue. From Turquoise and teal to a sage or a periwinkle there is an entire ocean of beautiful blue options! It can also be an excellent alternative for those who don’t wear black. A dark blue such as a midnight blue, navy or royal can very fashionable and slenderizing.

Selecting the right blue to wear can bring out your eyes, light up your face and be more complimentary than any makeup you put on. Women with fair complexions and light hair look great in periwinkle blue because it is not a cold color and it has a hint of purple. Women with a medium to light skin tone and hair look amazing in teals and turquoise because the warmth and medium value of their skin is complimentary to the brightness of these colors. Finally, the women with dark hair, dark skin and/or dark eyes actually look great in any blue!

The color blue also has it’s psychological impact as well. It provides feelings of calmness and serenity. It is often described as peaceful, tranquil, secure, and orderly.

Blue is great for fall, incredibly versatile, and can be super flattering! Do you have a blue outfit that you are proud of? If not come see all the beautiful blues at MP Nursing Apparel!

Balance

Your life can either be run by you or run right over you. Do you have control of your life? Are you healthy, happy, and stress free? If not, it could be a sign that your life does not have balance. When it comes to life the word balance is synonymous with the word control. When your work life and personal life are out of balance your stress level is likely to soar. It will then eventually work its way straight to the bottom line of your physical health. For example, you know how you feel when things are unbalanced or out of whack: you start running around, giving everything ounce of energy you have with out getting anything in return. Of course, you then catch a cold. I am going to point out some simple ways to gain control in every aspect of your life therefore creating a balanced, harmonious lifestyle.

Lets start with your work life balance.
1.You must avoid procrastination and manage your time. Most people struggle with this which leads them right into a life of disorganization. Set goals and deadlines and stick to them.
2.Take charge, set priorities and write a list! It is much easier to get overwhelmed and stressed when all of your tasks are just thoughts swirling around in your head.
3.Finally, make sure you slow down at times. Take enough breaks and don’t ever overwork. You end up wearing thin and compromising the quality of your work.

Managing your social life is just as important.

Balance in your life depends on the choices you make through out your days. You have the ability to control how you spend your time. You don’t need to fill your schedule up every weekend. Consider down time as important as your social time. Learn to say “no” to people and just like at work prioritize what is most important to you and who is worth your time.

Another crucial element to balance is food.

We as a society make our relationship with food so complicated. We put so much energy into dieting and trying to get our bodies to respond that we get overwhelmed when we fail to see results. A balanced diet of foods that nourish your brain and body will provide you with a strong and healthy lifestyle. Research nutritious foods that you enjoy, eat in moderation, and don’t put any more thoughts or energy into it!

Finally exercise!

Find time for your self to walk, run, or be involved in some form of exercise. This is very important not only because of the obvious physical health reasons but mostly for your state of mind. It is a time to be by yourself in your own thoughts so you can reflect and plan for your day ahead. You will also benefit from the effects of the body’s own mood elevating endorphins. Your natural high will tackle depression and mood swings, keeping your mind focused.

Balance, Control, Peace and Happiness . . . I hope these tips help you find it!

Tips to look thinner in your scrubs!

There are so many stylish and beautiful scrubs today, HOWEVER, just because they look great on the models doesn’t necessarily mean they are going to look that great on us here in the real world! With long hectic work hours, and daunting daily tasks it is impossible NOT to gain a few unwanted pounds and some “lovely lady lumps”. Below I am breaking it down on how to look amazing in your scrubs by taking fashion techniques that are effective and applicable to scrubs!

Not too tight, not too loose!
This is a common misconception among shoppers. You definitely don’t want anything too tight. With the thin scrub material it will show off any little lumps or cellulite you may have. Equally as important, do not select anything that is too loose on you. Baggy, bulky, and loose will just make you look even bigger! Find a size somewhere in the middle.

One color or Monochrome
I know wearing all one color is the old fashioned way for nursing apparel but with some of the newer modern colors and styles this is one of the best ways to lose ten pounds instantly! Also, if you wear all one color or two different colors with the same value try and keep it on the darker side. This will elongate your body and is a slimming technique. (This is why the color black will never go out of style)

Prints, Prints, Prints
Prints are all the craze right now, but are there right and wrong prints? There sure are when it comes to looking fashionably thinner! It’s actually pretty simple; the bigger and louder the prints the larger they are going to make you look. I would suggest smaller prints that trick they eye. The new Elan eyelet prints from Barco do this well, as well as all of the “new prints” from Cherokee.

Finally the PANTS
This part of your outfit is worth spending the time trying on different styles and getting it right. (MP Nursing Apparel has a super selection in pant styles) Watch for pants that have extra seams, pockets, and pleats that may contribute to a heavier look. Try and find pants that flare out at the bottom, that will help thin the upper leg. And don’t forget not too tight, not too loose!

Some other small side notes . . .

If you are looking to down play a large chest stay away from empire-cut waists.

Also scoop necklines are very flattering for your neckline and face and v-neck scrubs create longer vertical lines making you look thinner

Remember to always choose your scrubs based on what you like and what will make you happy. If you can apply some of these techniques listed above that’s great. You want to look comfortable in your clothes and look like you belong in them!

BRANDING

Is your company, office, fundraiser, event, group, etc. making the type of impact it should be making? Does your business instantly grab the attention of prospective consumers? If not, this could be a reflection on your company branding.
There is an astonishing emotional connection between people and their brands of choice. People use appearances to make judgments about a company or group and the employees associated. Consumers respond emotionally to the aesthetics of a design and the meaning portrayed. As a result branding can have an immediate positive or negative effect on your business. Branding can also be used as a friendly reminder for the quality of service and the wonderful experience a customer, participant, or patient receives.
The American Marketing Association (AMA) defines a brand as a “name, term, sign, symbol or design …” Wikipedia says, “A brand is the identity of a specific product, service, or business”. A successful Brand will deliver the company or group’s message clearly, connects to its target prospects emotionally, confirms its credibility, and creates a higher level of loyalty.
MP Nursing Apparel has been helping businesses for years with ALL of their branding needs. We offer screen-printing, embroidery, patches, and thousands of different promotional products depending on what you are looking for.
MP Nursing Apparel knows how important and how far successful branding can take a business. With our experienced staff, talented design team, and endless branding options we are confident we can take your business and help you create the (branding) impact you have been looking for!
